A: As much as I like the Renix EFI system for accepting mods, I have to go
with HO for swapping, so 08/90 to 08/96. The other benefit is the std trans
used is an AX-15 (stronger than the earlier BA 10/5), but I wouldn't turn
down a BA 10/5 just because. (mine was rebuilt and has withstood MY driving
for almost 2 years so far, but I let up the throttle a bit)
I'll be selling my trans, flywheel and clutch (along with the
slave/master and slipyoke) as soon as I get around to swapping in the auto
trans (kind of busy getting ready to sell my current house and getting the
truck ready to handle our new 6 mile long class 2 offroading driveway! <G>)

I have a question;
If I was to look for a complete 2WD 4.0 and 5 sp trans (or auto - but I
prefer manuals), which yr/model would be best?
I've been tossing different things around in my mind on a drivetrain
interchange for the Wagon, and while I have a 360 setup, I keep coming back
to a EFI 4.0. I could look for a complete vehicle that way everything is
there for the swap.
But, I've seen posted different things on the list and other places that
this yr engine is best, or that yr trans should be avoided. What's the best
combo/yr/how ti ID?
Thanks,
Jim Boone
