I have to chime onto this drum versus disc brake thing. The subject has been dealt with before but since they were labeled dangerous I need to edjumacate you. The feds required discs to be standard on all cars on the front. Drums are not dangerous if kept adjusted and in good repair. Some drums are very weak, look at your average Falcon, Chevy 11 or American in the early 60s. Some drums do stop very well, power V8 Ambos fer example. But just tossing out a comment like you did is wrong. I have Ambassador V8 brakes on my American fore and aft and have Kevlar linings, drilled drums and backing plates for venting and keep them adjusted properly. I can panic stop in about 120 feet. That is more than todays standard for excellence. I ran discs on the car for a while and went back to drums, as my stopping wasn't any better but my gas miliage was worse. Now granted I kept the discs on my AMX as I drive that harder, but I am not hesitant to take my drum laden "death mobile" anywhere my "safety car" will go. It all depends on what you need the car to do.....Russ ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs
