Re: Bendix calipers go clunk, and other stuff

" From: "Armand Eshleman" <aje1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

" Is the best solution to track down some new support springs or should I put
" a piece of rubber from an inner tube in there to stop it.

i agree with brien, forget rubber for that.

" Any body have any
" suggestions for a set of wheels? I still have my old slotted chrome wheels
" on the car looks a bit dated but still good.

i've always liked the old mopar rallies, nice but not too flashy;
repros available in 15x8 and i think 15x10 as well as stock sizes.

downside: you'd have all the half-fast wondering when your
'barracuda' was made...

" Real slow turning the wheel, need a quick ratio steering box.

early ['93-?] grand wagoneers have the fast 12.7:1 ratio and wide amc
turning stops. you'll have to change the fittings or have hybrid
hoses made, and you'd have to hunt up a flange to match your steering
coupler... but adapting newer boxes to older cars is done all the
time.
