Flywheel Balance

I've been looking at my '69 Rambler project and where to go from here. I still need to strip it down all the way (it's ~1/2 there now)for the bodywork.

I've been looking at the engine - I have a '70 390 attached to a T5 - and figure to go ahead and use a rebuilt 360 I have sitting under my workbench. That way, I could concentrate on other aspects of the car, then rebuild the 390 (and budget the project money out farther) later, after the car is running again.

The 360 was an automatic trans engine ('73 AMX 4 bbl), and I did just a basic rebuild on it. It was originally done to replace a tired engine in a Waggie I had, then I sold the Jeep, so here it still sits. It was rebuilt stock, in fact looked so good per the machine shop I took it to, that it really only needed re-ring and bearings, no over/undersizing required. The only mod I did was the valley oiling line.

I'd need to get a flywheel for it, and I know that flywheels/flexplates are particular to each size engine in AMC's, but, is it as simple as going to one of the vendors (or finding used) and getting a 360 flywheel, bolting it on, then the engine will be balanced right? I'm still using the original balancer up front.

I really don't want to take it back apart to have it all balanced if possible. It would be nice if I could just drop this in for a yr or two, then concentrate on building a killer 390 during that time.

Plus, this 360 I really would ultimately like to go in my Rebel Wagon, which would most likely need to go back to being a auto car - so having the ease of switching back and forth between flexplate and flywheel without balance problems would be great.

I have an R4B and the new Edelbrock shorty headers I'll put on, and either use the stock cam, or I have a new Reed cam that would probably work well with this combo.
