Re: bellhousings

A: The FSJs got a T-5 behind the 6 cyl '80 to '85. (only pickups so far)
Advanced Adapters (I think. Could be Novak) actually sells a bellhousing to
bolt one up. They also sell a beefed up version of the T-5 brand new. The 4
speed used after '79 is T176 but V8s still got a T18 or T18A (4:1 and 6:1
first gear respectively)
   The AX-15 didn't start till '90ish (4WD was 21 spline output till 08/90
then 23 spline for the HO. 2WD though is the same for all years) Before that
was the BA 10/5 (I'll sell mine pretty soon. I need to yank it for my 4x4
automatic conversion but it's fine other than that. Complete with hydraulic
clutch and flywheel assembly for $100, but it's in Seattle.)

if it's hooked to a sr4, t4, or t5 already it'll be obvious. if it's
got a t150 or t176/7/8 i dunno.

a note - the sr4/t4/t5-only bell has a smaller retainer hole than the
mustang t5 needs. you could use an amc or i think gm t5 retainer,
turn the ford retainer down, or mill the bellhousing hole out in this
case. the multipattern bells have to take the t150 which has the
larger retainer already. iirc the t17x 4sp do too.

nope. '80s cjs should have it; they had sr4s and t5s. '80s fsjs might
even have the multipattern with t170-family 4sp but i don't know.
late-'70s-up amcs with 4sp or 5sp will have it.
