A: Rather than a 518 and adapters, an AW4 from a 2wd Cherokee with 4.0L is a bolt up, or the 42RE from a 2wd Grand Cherokee with 4.0L. I have been checking it out and it appears that the A500 valvebody swap will work with minor mods. (I haven't had the trans to do a test fit yet, but the holes appear to match up) From: fljab@xxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: 727 to 518 swap... Or is adapting to the more plentiful GM 700R4 cheaper as well as easier?? I don't even pretend to be a auto trans expert, but it sure seems to me that the GM 700R4 would be easier. Much more plentiful both used and modified. I still like the GearVendors OD unit, too bad it's $2500 bucks or so... Jim Boone Mims, FL
