I've been getting the wagon ready for the trip - figure I'll put ~ 1000 miles on it this coming weekend. Leaving early Thursday morning to meet Cliff in Jacksonville, then on from there. Under the hood I did: >Oil/filter (to synthetic) >Air Filter >New plugs >New water pump >New Radiator (was a planned upgrade to 3 row in anticipation of having AC) >Replaced leaking Valve Cover gasket - I saw the post a few weeks ago on getting to the back of a six cylinder VC and didn't pay it much mind! Getting the bolt out was somewhat of a chore, but did it OK with the right combo of extension and universal, but getting the VC off was another adventure until I realized you rotate it to the passenger side and it comes right off!! On the interior I installed a NOS front carpet that came with the car when I bought it. Much bluer than the rest of the wagon's carpet, but I'll live with that. The old stuff was shredded esp. under the driver's feet. My install job leaves something to be desired, but it's almost done now (what a chore!). I also will be reinstalling my newly recovered front bench seat (I'll leave the rear seat folded down!!!). That material from SMS was pricey, but I think sure looks great! Hope to see some of you this weekend! Look for the slightly dinged blue '67 Rebel 770 Wagon with Navy/Florida plate.
