I trust Gwen made no typos; does anyone have any ideas on why this
3.595" bored six block would have a V8 part number?
Tom,
You may have a casting number and not a part number. I'll admit to not
paying terribly huge attention to this topic when it comes up but it seems
to me that casting numbers are the same length as part numbers so maybe its
just coincidence that they're the same.
Also, I just took a look at my 67 wagon and the number on the block is
3170721 but my parts book doesn't show this as an available part number. I
would assume this means that it's a casting number since the part numbers
for six cylinder blocks start with 320. Also, they don't list a bare block
(the most bare has bearings and all the core and oil gallery plugs installed).
