I have not read all the post on this, but have the new guide plates in stock ( $39.95 with shipping). They are copies of the Indy plate. I was going to make these plate a few years back, I still have the one prototype. Randy Guynn stated he was having them done so I did not bother. Randys' plates are similar to the originals. Indy bought these plates and the 1st Indy heads, were offered with Randys plates. Indy got a company to make them for them ( cheaper), and they made theirs appear more like the originals. The new plate is just like the Indys', BUT the Indy is a laser cut part, the new ones are punched out. The Indy has a cleaner side profile, the new ones have the usually "ridge" around them from the punching process. The new plates are nice, and fit and work like the Indys. As for when has it NOT benefited the market to have more then one supplier ( same part) , well all the time! Look at US automotive history, and we no longer have hounders of auto manufactures. If you have 10 folks, and all ten sell Ice tea and sodas, you have a DEAD market. Also keeping prices in check is a illusion. The fact is in the AMC hobby, you have PRICE FIXING by the BIG 4-5, with these and other individuals trying to destroy other competition, that is braking this practice. Andre " A.J."
