A: All FWD Mopars with O/D use the special fluid (even though the dipsticks said Dex3 on most at first, it was a factory/dealer alert) The RWD 3 speed autos used the Dex3 and O/D models (except AW4 in Cherokees) used ATF+3. My understanding is that it's a very bad thing to put the wrong stuff in it. I'm not sure when exactly this took effect but it's been at least for the past ten years. Matt
