There's a guy in Indian Mills, NJ (southern NJ, about 30 miles or so from Philadelphia) who has a '72 Gremlin for sale, asking price is $950. While in the area I had a quick look, it's a "little old lady" car, when the owner passed away it sat in a barn for several years.
It's a base model Gremlin (rubber floor mats) with 232 six, automatic transmission, power steering, non-reclining bench seat, no A/C. Passenger door is rusty, other than that the car looks solid. (Though I didn't crawl underneath to check for chassis or floor rot.) It does not have a battery, so I didn't hear it run. Tires are new (still bits of the paper label visible.) Interior is fair, front seat has a rip on driver's side, the center of the dash is apart as someone had been monkeying with the radio, other than that looks OK.
It would be nice if an "AMC person" were to buy this car instead of some kid trashing it, looks like a fairly easy restoration. If anyone here is interested drop me an email (rogblake@xxxxxxxxx) and I'll send you the current owner's phone number.
