That would do it, but I'll just put an incandescent back in. There's no real advantage to the LED in that application and I'm at the point where I want to DRIVE it not WRENCH it :-)

Just swap out an LED replacement lamp for the normal incandescent.
Exact same issue as the old Moto -- doesn't draw enough current to
make the alt start!

THe old lamp will be goign back in :-)

(The alt will start if you blip the throttle up to 3000 rpm or so,
for some reason.)
