Re: Southern Pacers?

I'm just moving from MS! You won't find a lot of AMCs there, I'm afraid. There is a Pacer in one of the slavage yards near Biloxi. All I can recall at the moment is the yard is just north of I-10 between the Gulfport and Biloxi exits -- might be A-1 Salvage??? I'd have to look at a phone book, might have one packed up...

There's a pick-n-pull yard just north of I-10 at the Canal Road exit also. That's just a couple miles west of the Hwy 49 exit. They occasionally have an AMC, you have to look through the Chrysler section. I always found more Jeep 4.0L stuff there than AMC cars though. A 4.0L is just what a Pacer needs to be a resonably powered vehicle! They were always just adequate with a carbed 258, though 304 models were a little better. The 4.0L (even the first ones) has more power than the 304 and should deliver a bit better mileage than a stock 258 Pacer. That's one car I've yet to see a 4.0L dropped into -- most conversions are Eagles and mid/late 60s Americans, with an odd Classic or two (like mine). Few Concords, but I've seen one Spirit with a 4.0L.
