Any American or Hornet/Gremlin/Concord/Spirit crossmember will fit. Or lower the engine in with mounts in place and make a 1/4" steel plate to match the V-8 mounts to the six. IIRC the V-8 mounts are further forward than the six mounts. You may want to weld the plates in place if you go that route, though I have seen 1/4" plates just bolted in. As long as the plate is thick enough and bolts good (two 3/8" bolts in each 1/4" plate to six perch) there is no problem with that method. If you use 1/8" plate (as the factory did) they need to be folded on the sides to ti over the six perches and welded. It won't "look factory", but no one will see it unless they look very close. It takes a bit of time lifting the engine in and out, but that's the case with any engine swap. You will alos need American/small car engine plates. The big car and Javelin plates stick out from the engine more. You might be bale to make them work with modified six cylinder mounts, but there will be reduced clearance around the engine mount area. I suggest you get those engine side plates even if you modify your six cylinder mounts. If you want to run headers it's a must! Galvin's (www.ramblerparts.com) has repro side plates and crossmembers. He just made copies of the v-8 perches and modifies six crossmembers. The crossmember itself is the came, the perches are the difference.
