I need to consolidate my herd (said that before) and this time I am serious. I have a 67 440 station wagon that I picked up in Las Vegas last fall on eBay; some of you may know of the difficulties I had in getting it home to Orange County. It's a rust-free, just painted Lexus pearl white 6-cylinder car with no 3rd gear in the BW Flash-O-Matic. I have a running but rust-challenged 78 Concord hatchback which has a 304/automatic combination. My question is this, how difficult will it be to install the the 304/TorqueFlyte combo in the 67 station wagon? I know that the crossmember will need to be changed but I'm concerned about the size of the TorqueFlyte transmission and what, if anything will need to be changed to connect it to the existing driveshaft and shift linkages? Since the BW will need a rebuild, I'd prefer to install the later model TorqueFlyte that's currently with the 304 in the 78 hatchback. Make sense or should I get the BW rebuilt? I invite anyone who has insatlled the later V-8/TorqueFlyte combo in a 64-69 American/Rogue to contact me with any information that would be helpful. Since the 67 has factory A/C, I'm assuming that its compressor can be installed on the bracket that I'll have with the 304. Am I correct? I am also planning to take the disc brakes off of the 78 hatchback (an obviously rare V-8 hatchback, the reason I bought it in the first place) and install them on my daily-driver 64 440 convertible but if anyone on the list is interested in my two 78 Concords (the other is a non-running D/L 2-door with a 258 and mostly solid sheetmetal and interior) please contact me ASAP as I would consider selling both as a package for $800 or best offer before taking the drivetrain and brakes from the 78 hatchback for the 67 wagon and 64 ragtop. Both cars are located in Orange County, CA, 60 miles from Los Angeles, 15 minutes from Disneyland.
