I contacted the owner today since it looked like I might be getting somewhere in possibly fixing the thing for him. Well, it would need quite a bit of work, I'm afraid! Here's his reply: I really do appreciate you efforts but after three years of sitting and rusting there is really no telling what may be wrong. I am more comfortable with simply selling it or even giving it away if necessary. I've gone over it as closely as I can and too much of the body is gone to really justify anymore work. I do appreciate everyone's willingness to help but I really think it's too late. Michael On May 16, 2005 Frank Swygert wrote: > A much better idea: anyone on the list in the area? I'll donate $40 to the cause if someone will go down and give the truck a once over and run a new fuel line for the guy. To far for me or I'd do it myself! He's not asking for this, he's trying to find the truck a new home. I'd like to see it fixed to give him at least 2-3 more years of beach running before he is forced to sell it. Whoever works on it can leave him a number and ask for first dibs when he does need to sell. Any takers? I'll cross post this to the AMC Forum as well. > > > On May 15, 2005 Jim B wrote: > > > Moontanman@xxxxxxx <Moontanman@xxxxxxx> > > > > > > I have a 79 Cherokee chief I need to sell.
