Since '68, I've been into more-than-I-can-count limited slip units (mainly GM and AMC), and a lot of the time all it really took to get rid of the posi clutch chatter was good lube (kind of makes up for the worn clutch packs to some extent). My favorite is Genuine GM Posi Lube, plus one bottle of Genuine GM Posi Additive. Never had a chatter comeback when using this stuff. Also use it in my T-10; makes it shift slicker than owl snot. But that's just me (where have I heard that before??!!). You should investigate a rebuild kit price before jumping. I found out that shortly after putting a used one in it will likely develop a problem if you don't! Mine worked fine for a while, now sounds like a Detroit locker when I go around a curve and decelerate at the same time. A little power to it and it stops. I suspect a weak/broken spring somewhere. Jeepers tell me it's nothing that will cause any internal damage, just noise. Anyone have any other experience? On May 13, 2005 David Wolfe wrote: > Hi all, > I'm new to the list here.
