I don't recall spending less than 60 cents a gallon for gas, but then your a couple years older than me and I didn't start driving until 16. I've discovered that when you don't have much it doesn't take much to have fun. When you do, the things that would be fun just aren't for some reason. But I'll take "home-made" fun over "store bought" any day! Probably the way I grew up. Four young teen guys shinnying up a 4-5" diameter pine tree to bend it over and three getting off while the other hangs on is fun! Six shinnying up a 7-8" tree isn't, however. Sure does seem like it would be a better ride, but the tree tends to snap about half way over and EVERYONE gets and exciting ride... but only once! Ruins tree and a bit of nerve... Rusty with alot of miles, but man, you sure could get a load of teenagers in that car! We used to go to the drive-in with it and could get 2-3 guys in the trunk. That's back when gas was ~.30/gal, gas stations had "used oil" for .10/qt, and part-time summer jobs paid $1.60/hr. We never had much, but it didn't cost much to have a good time. 4 or 5 of us could throw in a buck apiece and ride all night. ============================================================= Posted by wixList Archiver -- http://www.amxfiles.com/wixlist
