You could always suggest getting another American and make a father/son project out of it. 199/232 running first, then later go the 4.0L route after some driving experience has been earned. Or a Spirit/Hornet. Make a modern rendition of the AMX two seater from a Spirit. Again, a four/auto would be good for driving experience with a 4.0L or V-8 swap for later.
