News from the Heartland's Ron Traver, Wheat Rancher "Extra-Ordinaire" and Dakota Conservative political agitator... The price for a gallon of ethanol in Sioux Falls dropped 12 cents overnight to $1.98, even cheaper than that at some gas stations, and it didn't take long for motorists to notice. It's not a return to the good old days, but car buffs are taking a trip down memory lane at these prices. "Definitely been a long time, I'm glad it has dropped that way I can afford to put more in my pickup truck," said Rick Crites. Gas Plus on West 12th Street is selling ethanol for a $1.93. "That looks pretty good there," said Daralle Hovdestad. A sure sign gas prices are heading in the right direction at least for now. "I couldn't believe it," said Kathy Hickcox. Do you remember the last time it was below $2.00? "Ah, about six months ago? I don't remember." "Last year wasn't it?" According to the manager at the Get N Go on West 12th Street, it's only been two months. But consider this. Last year people were fearing $1.98, now, they're cheering $1.98. "I was happy." "I thought it was nice." "That's why I'm here." "It's about time they come down." Don Jorgensen , - © 2005 KELOLAND TV. That ethanol stuff would probably be OK in the AMX with it's higher compression 343 as long as I pay a little attention to the rubber gas line fittings, gaskets, etc... Heck the Koreans used to run their old garbage trucks on stirred wet manure. There s/b lots of answers for us. _____________________________________________________________________ Ralph Ausmann - Hillsboro, OR - > http://mysite.verizon.net/res79g4m/ <ralph.ausmann@xxxxxxxxxxx> - http://clubs.hemmings.com/classicamx
