RE: 287 T chain

Mark, I just got a Gear and Chain set for my 360 from PAW/1-818-678-3000 for
$45.00 (they have an all steel set for $30.00). Give them a call, buy their
Performance Parts Catalog for the $7.00 shipping fee, it has over 1100 pages
of parts for everything, one of my best resources for AMC parts and
specifications.

Subject: 287 T chain

While I'm thinking of it.
I have a 287 I paid $50 for and I think it needs a timing chain.
It's only got 60,000 miles on it though so I'm not sure the best way to
check that without pulling the cover.
Anyway. Is there a dirt cheap timing chain available for this engine? I paid
$50 for it, My plan is to drop it in the Convertible and get it running so
the car is moveable. Leave it in place while I do the body work. Then I
will change it over to the 327 turbo 400 later. That way if I sandblast and
get anything in th engine or overspray ETC; It won't be on the good engine.
Plus I will then know if it is a good engine and I can resell it or Junk it
if it is not.
