Yeah, the Koreans have that worked out too. Bus stops are coordinated with the subway so that they aren't far apart. I don't think I ever walked much more than a couple miles to get anywhere. Taxis are plentiful and relatively cheap too, so even if the bus/train/subwway isn't close to where you want to go you're only looking at a 2-5 mile taxi ride. When we went to a couple places like that we usually walked there then took a taxi back if tired or with packages.
