Re: Steering Column Classic/American

You're really just talking about the shift rod. The shift arm on the American column chould be the same or near the same length as the one in the Classic -- all the BW trannys used pretty much the same length. One of the rods should work, either the Classic or one of the three speed rods. The longer of the American three speed rods will probably come closest. You will have to bend the rod for the Classic as the column is a bit lower in the body than the American. Should be a piece of cake, will just have to crawl under the car 2-3 times until you get it bent and adjusted right. At least the adjusting end is on the column!
