I don't recall seeing the manifold on an engine up close, but saw a tubular type in an illustration. It could have been for a Porsche installation and not AMC. I'll bow to your superior (and first hand!) knowledge on this issue and apologize for getting anyone's hopes up. Maybe there's a header designed for the Porsche application and that's what I saw???
