One of my pet peeves is factory A/C systems that run the compressor everytime you turnt he defrosters on. Waste of fuel and horsepower. Sometimes it just isn't needed. Sometimes it is. The one thing I love about Nissan. they let you decide. Even my wife's 98 Altima lets you choose. If you run it on full defrost/ Widnsheild only it engages the A/C compressor. If you switch it to bi-level Floor and windshield it only turns the compressor on if you hit the seperate A/C switch. One of these days. I want to go into the heater control panel on both my S-10 and Jeep Cherokee and add switches to dissable A/C request on them when I don't want it running!
