(rumours of AMC 2.5L usage with this trans seem to be " > exagerated so far) afaik no fours with ba 10/5s. they got t5s in cjs and eagles, and early xj/mj 2.5/2.8 could have either t5 or ax5; i imagine it took a while to ramp ax5 usage up. there are rumors of 2.5s with ax15s in late-'90s jeeps; they were teamed that way in dakotas... the ax5 is also pretty weak and marginal, but perhaps later ones are better; i understand toyota's version of the mid '80s was called the g52. but the g54 that replaced it is stronger, and the '90s w56/w59 in an identical case is about 50% stronger. according to marlin crawler, the g52 can be rebuilt into a g54, but i don't know if g and w parts interchange. in toyotas the complete trannies can, but toy and jeep inputs and outputs are different. ________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Hay the genius nature internet rambler is to see what all have seen adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought
