A: There are 2 styles of 2wd outter ends I have seen so far. One looks just like a 4x4 one with plugs in the back of the bearing where the shaft comes through and the other has 1 piece rotors (off my son's '89 Comanche) that look like '80 Concord rotors. Same arms, spring locations, etc. It even uses 4x4 axle steering knuckles and bearings on the ends! AMC just used a single piece of axle tube between the 4x4 ends to come up with the 2WD XJ/MJ. Pretty good thinking! I don't think there's a special part in there, though the hubs, bearings, and/or stub axles on the ends might be different than 4x4, not 100% sure.
