Be careful when looking for "rebuilt" engines. In over 30 years of rebuilding and selling rebuilt engines I have seen some real junk put out by some rebuilders. It definitely IS one item where you get what you pay for. But you need to know WHAT you ARE getting. MANY rebuilders REUSE valve train parts like rocker arms & pushrods to help them keep the price down. ASK QUESTIONS, WHAT is "reconditioned" and what is "replaced". What machine operations are performed? Have they been "spin tested" or "hot run"? Is the warranty nation wide and who is it administered by? Quality rebuilt engines cost money, especially late model stuff. If I needed an engine in a hurry or didn't have a core, I purchased from these folks http://www.atk-engines.com/ Their engines are top notch and they have many hard to find applications. I started using their Japanese engines YEARS ago when they had apps we just could NOT find cores for. We had very few problems with them and were always easy to deal with. MOST of their standard engines carry a 3 YEAR WARRANTY. As with everything there are exceptions so be sure to check with them first. REMEMBER,,, cheap engines are cheap for a reason, maybe what they are selling will fit your needs. Just be SURE you know WHAT you are getting. I would,,,, But hey,,, that's just me!!!
