If you base your purchase on " what can I get for it if I don't want it later", pass. If you really like the car, and it's in nice shape otherwise, pursue it. I NEVER decide on purchasing a car as to it's resale value. Some people do. Those that do, won't buy a Concord 4-door, a Hornet wagon, or even a Gremlin, as it won't "return their investment" later, probably. I don't look at cars as an investment as the top consideration, I look at it from " do I really like the car and want it?" perspective. I have spent $2,000 on car repairs on AMCs that sit in my driveway. Still cheaper than a $18,000 new car! Assuming it's the sedan Kammback ( Gremlin-style ), I'd thought one of these would make a neat retro-Gremlin project, by using a body-colored window tint film treatment to partially blank out the big side rear glass so it looks like a Gremlin, but you can see out from inside the car. One-way viewing. I wasn't impressed with the non-different look with the big side glass, but you could have the best of both worlds, a Gremlin look with a more modern, custom treatment of the glass area. Just a thought. :) Hope it works out, Kammbacks are rare enough, and unusual in their own right I guess. Buy it based on your preferences, is my suggestion, or leave it alone. Won't be a big reseller, I don't think. I'd take one for $100, though! LOL. Jerry Casper 8 Gremlins, a Hornet 4-door, and a Pacer wagon, among other AMCs...
