Isn't this more of a dealer type question? I haven't a clue if this is 
correct or for that radio or not but since you just bought what's likely a 
brand new car, I think I'd try the dealer first. If nothing else, you may 
want to try out another 2005 Ion with the same radio and see if it does the 
same thing.
