I haven't ordered a converter yet for my 998 in a 74
AMX but received the fol reply from TCI:
'Our breakaway series converter should work perfectly
for you. I assume you need the Chrysler style
converter ( starter ring gear is welded on the
torque converter). The part number for this
converter is 141300. It will give you a stall speed
around 2400 rpms, yet remain very driveable. Thank
you for considering TCI.'
If I order from them do I need to tell them to remove
the ring gear? Thanks.

Marty - check these people :
www.delta-transparts.com
they sell to the Major Performance Rebuilder
Community.
Remember the Convertor Rule :
The convertor you get usually will stall
another 500rpm above what they tell you.
If it is Street and Ltd. Strip -
consider an RV convertor - which stalls
higher than Stock - but you don't lose
Daily Drivability.
I recall watching a Dodge Super Bee
with a 440 & Torqueflite blow past
a Nite Club parking lot late one evening -
you could tell that the RPM wasn't getting
to the diff. & was burning a lot of extra
fuel.
