70 console and shifter wiring

I took the console and automatic floor shifter out of my Javelin today in
preparation for the T5 manual going in. I observed a brown wire, brown with
white stripe wire, a green wire and a green with white stripe wire connected
to a multi position switch that moves with the shifter. These won't be
hooked back up to anything when the manual transmission goes in. I am
assuming that the wires and switch have something to do with neutral safety
and preventing starting the car in gear. My question is do I leave these
wires disconnected ? Do I tie them in with the neutral safety switch on the
T5? Got any ideas anyone?
