A: If you were going to run the GM trans, then this flywheel would work. I don't know if the crank bolt pattern is the same, but for the later V6 (internally balanced) you could use the 4 cyl flexplate (pre TBI, although it wouldn't matter as the tone ring isn't used on the 2.8L) or rebalance a regular 2.8L one (cost me $65 locally) or buy one from Advance Adapters already done. RIGHT...almost " From: "Jim Blair" <carnuck@xxxxxxxxxxx> " " A: 700R4 was also used (and it's HIGHLY sought after by rod builders) I was " checking out Advancedadapters website and several of their conversions for " Ford Rangers are using 700R4 from 2.8L family. As for the other stuff, a 3.1 " or 3.4L would require a balanced flexplate/flywheel. The 2.8L one is " externally balanced till almost the end of the line. as i hear it all the 60-deg engines were redesigned to be neutral-balanced about '87-8, 2.8 included. it continued on to '93 in s-10s, and i think this flywheel would be your ticket if you wanted to replace your manual-trans xj 2.8 with the gm crate 3.4 longblock, which is only available with a [700r4] flexplate. ________________________________________________________________________ Andrew Hay the genius nature internet rambler is to see what all have seen adh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and think what none thought
