CALL FOR YOUR BEST AMC PHOTOS

In surfing around the web this morning I noticed that thereâ??s no one public place on the Internet serving as a depository for high resolution AMC vehicles images. On my photo server I have about a dozen albums of photos of AMC feature vehicles Iâ??ve shot for magazines over the last couple of years but those images are password protected and not generally available to the general public. I would like to remedy that and in the process collect a representative cross section of really good images that anyone with an interest in AMC cars can download.

Hereâ??s what Iâ??m looking for, the best four images of your car, high-resolution and uncompressed, at least 2400 pixels wide, whatâ??s typically produced with contemporary 4-megapixel cameras. The four images should include a front three-quarter image, a rear three-quarter image, a shot of your engine compartment and a shot of your interior through the open, passenger-side door. If you want to send anything else, please feel free to do so and space permitting, I will post additional photos in groups of two per vehicle.

I will also need the following information:

Your name (Richard Truesdell)
Your hometown (Yorba Linda, CA)
Your E-mail address (autotronic@xxxxxxx) In the event that someone requests reproduction rights to your images â?? I need a way to contact you.
Your phone number â?? In case I need to get in touch with you; this information will not be posted.
Year, make, model and body style of your car (1964 AMC Rambler American 440 convertible)
Engine/transmission combination (196.5 6-cylinder, 3-speed automatic)
Photographer's name (if not the owner)

Please put in your E-mail the phrase "I am the copyright holder to these imnages and I give my permission to post these photos in the AMC online image library."

I want to make the presentation of each vehicle as consistent as possible so please follow the above template when submitting your photos.

I am also looking for scans of historic AMC-related photos. These can include snapshots of previously owned AMCs, official yearly press photos, photos of AMC concept vehicles and even shots of AMC dealerships, especially where then and now photos can be provided.

As soon as I have a representative sample of images, I will post them up at the web site listed below that will be open to all people interested in AMC cars and will do what I can to get the URL searchable through search engines like Google, Yahoo, Dogpile, Ask Jeeves and others. (Help in this area will be greatly appreciated from those with expertise in this area, such as meta tags and the like.)

To get things rolling, Iâ??m posting several images of my own and hope that you will enjoy seeing some of the AMCs Iâ??ve shot for my own features, many of which can be found in a second web site at:

imageevent.com/mmm_mag/pdffiles

There youâ??ll find features on the Breedlove AMX (in English and Dutch), the ex-Reggie Jackson SC/Rambler and Larry Blattâ??s 343 Rogue.

I hope that by assembling high-quality AMC images in one place, that other enthusiasts will see why we are so passionate about our cars.

Best wishes,

Richard Truesdell
