Re: Help! Edelbrock intake swap

Jonathan,

Funny you should ask. My son and I are just finishing this on the 360 in his
Matador. For the throttle linkage Edelbrock makes an adaptor that moves the
throttle cable bracket forward and to the left a bit. The part number is
8034. With this in place the original throttle cable lined up correctly.

For the kickdown linkage the Performer is supposed to include a stud that
attaches to the lower carburetor lever. We were installing a used SP2P, so
we used a quarter-inch bolt about three-quarters and a locking nut with a
nylon insert. My son's kickdown linkage had a nylon roller about a half inch
around and we just fed the bolt through this. We had to extend the linage
out about an inch or so since the throttle lever sits further forward on the
4bbl.

The metal tray is a heat shield. I'm not sure how important it is, but we
swapped it over. We cut the heads of the pins off with a chisel and put it
back on with small pop rivets. Some people on the list said that the pins
can be unscrewed and re-used.

Good luck with your project.
