I've been talking to an aftermarket AC provider I saw at the recent Daytona Spring Run. Mike at www.rainbowproductsonline.com has called me and said that they do offer kits for CJ Jeeps, although I didn't know/think about a change in the sixes in 1974! I haven't called him back again as I needed to do some measurements, and also to determine which side the hoses went through the firewall when stock. They have a slimline evap that puts out 20K BTU - which should be plenty - and it can be ordered with either driver or passenger side hose fittings. I know on my American, there is a block-off plate on the firewall that was removed for the AC hoses when equipped. I haven't looked at the Rebel yet, or the TSM, but I will. Their complete kit with brackets, condenser, evap unit, hoses, and other misc parts is ~ $725 shipped, which seems about right from what I've been finding out. I'm sure you could ebay/cobble together parts for less, probably much less if you knew what to get, what would/could fit, etc, but I'd feel better, and probably more cool, just ordering a brand new complete kit, even if I still have to find an odd part or two to finish it off.
