Re: OT - Corteco Gaskets

If you're just wanting to sell the truck, then just replace the gasket with
a good brand name. Tell the new buyer about the Corteco gasket, though. If
the person wants to buy a 130k vehicle, he/she should be ready to do (or pay
for) a fair amount of repairs before too long.

Napaonline.com has a head gasket for your truck, part #NGA 4023,
$15.99+shipping. There is also a head gasket set, part #NGA HS4023, which
likely has everything else you need. (No exhaust pipe gasket.) Both are Napa
brand. I've used the Napa brand gaskets on Jeep 2.46L & 4.2L carb and 2.5L
and 4.0L EFI engines, and they hold up well.

Just make sure to use a ruler or level 2X4 to make sure the mounting surface
is flat, or else you will blow the gasket again. I've worked on the 2.2L
before, unfortunately, and many of them came from the factory with warped
head gasket mounting surfaces! And the dealerships here didn't know until we
told them!!
