Re: 83 Eagle questions

A: Make sure the rag joint is in good shape (I saw some with rags and some
with "T" joints or whatever they are called) They have the same adjuster on
top but also make sure the bolts holding the box to the frame aren't loose.
(the aluminum spacer has been known to crack during rough offroading. AMHIK!
<G>) As for the seat spring, I replaced mine with a lawnchair strap and some
small springs I had laying around. Took a couple tries to get it feeling
right (those seats ended up in my '83 Cherokee)

Not unique to my SX/4 but have the fol problems:
-power steering has quite a bit of play (ie with
wheels straight ahead, steering wheel can be turned
between 11:00 and 1:00 w/o moving wheels). Is there a
way to tighten this up?
-drivers seat is missing the rear most spring in the
bottom cushion. Anyone know where to purchase a
replacement or have a spare?
Thanks.
Marty
