RE: Barris AMX in Dallas!

I talked with Mike Geary at Autorama, Detroit, and he mentioned that the
Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills has asked to display his AMX 400. He liked
the idea of free heated Winter storage.

His next project is going to be rechroming the louvers. It looks great to me
but once you start to chase perfection it's hard to stop.

Mike had the AMX 400 in Detroit last year for the Woodward Dream Cruise and
stopped by the Great Lakes Classic AMC Club Greenmead show to help one of
his favorite charities with a display. We ran a photo spread in our
newsletter afterward.

In other Autorama news, it is normal to see at best one AMC in the show.
This year there was a total of nine. I was wearing my Frank Swygert leather
AMC racing jacket and a gentleman came up to me and started talking about
the one he received while working for Hurst during the construction of the
SC/Ramblers. They had a Hurst patch on them. Has anyone seen one of these?
He promised to forward any information or memorabilia to me if he comes
across it at home. I let you know what he finds.

I took two pictures yesterday afternoon of this car at the Detroit Autorama,
anyone that would like me to send them to them off list just let me know.

A bud of mine sent me this pic of a cool Barris Custom
AMX (albeit a little overdone, IMHO). Does anyone
have the story on this build? I know I have seen it
in the past, but never gotten any details.

Could definetly do without the side pipes but it looks
like it has been chopped which I always thought would
be cool, or it could be the angle.
