A: Just needs a whack inwards at the top and bottom of the O, then rotate and do it again till it pops loose. Only on the flat face, and not the corner (unless you have new ones to put on) or down on the top. Subject: 83 Eagle rear brake drums Message-ID: <20050306.154107.-770303.0.superglider@xxxxxxxx> From: Wayne E LaMothe <superglider@xxxxxxxx> Just got the new 83 Eagle home and noticed the rear brakes are real touchy. Went to inspect the rear brakes and the drums don't want to come off. Surprise. The Chiltons (never liked them) says to remove the axle nut but the next pic shows the drum removed and the axle nut still on. I don't think the nut has to come off and it looks like the drum should slide over everything, just needs a little more heat to persuade it. Who has a definitive answer?
