327 vs 327

A: I am going to check out a '65 Jeep Wagoneer tomorrow night that is 
supposed to have a CHEV 327 in it. He claims it's a 1957 Chev truck engine 
that was put in (I haven't seen it, but he described ram's horn manifolds 
and not logs) Now I always thought Chev 327 didn't come out till '62 in the 
Vettes? (I know there was a truck 350 in '62 for 5 ton trucks) Just curious 
because I had a "conversation" (lively one at that!) about which 327 came 
first Chev or Nash. (I know Nash 327 came out in '57

   I'm looking at buying this rig for the grill (it has the Gladiator style 
I like and I'll swap the full width '84 J10 grill in it's place) Only thing 
missing is the radiator in this conversion. It's a 327/3spd std/D20 4x4 with 
PS and PB (unusual back then)
   If it does turn out to be a Nash 327, I'd be willing to sell it separate 
for @$350 (I have a 4.0L and AW4 that can go in it's place and not have to 
worry about emissions testing anymore)
