I think the server was hacked a few months ago. Someone got access to the list settings and changed a few things or the settings file got corrupted and set people at defaults. I'm not excatly sure what happened, but several people (myself included) had to go back and reset their defaults. If anyone is having trouble getting on or stops getting mail, go to amxfile.com and change your settings. Just put in what you want them to be, they don't have to be different than what they were. Jim, the situation with Randy has nothing to do with egos -- mine nor anyone elses on the moderation group list anyway. It has to do with constant complaints from the general list population and the unwillingness to comply with simple requests to tone down or end a thread -- with behavior that drives people away from the list and keeps new ones from signing on. PERIOD. It also has to do with a barrage of threats and personal attacks on several list members over the list situation. I KNEW I'd be getting them! I've issued calm replies, and asked Randy for a little restraint while the list reorganization took place so the new moderator group can consider the best course of action. That was met with reiterated threats. I'm not considering the best course of action for myself, but the best course of action for the general list population REGARDLESS of any actions taken against myself. My sole concern is that the list continue to operate without getting out of control. If a person cannot excercise a reasonable amount of self control, they won't be allowed on here. That should be fair enough! On March 2, 2005 James Mantle wrote: > Interesting, I was one of the original subscribers to this list and now > when I try to log on, it tells me I am not a subscriber.
