Yes, now that you mention it, the Schieffer flywheel does appear to be
neutral balanced. The shortblock is a new AMC factory shortblock bought
from an Ebay vendor in Pensylvania a couple of years ago. The block has a
1972 date code but was first sold in 1973. Since it is a replacement block
it was apparently built up from a 360 casting and the displacement numbers
have been ground off the sides. As I have mentioned before, it has thread
inserts to convert it to 7/16 headbolts (since it was supposed to be a 343
replacement). The flat top pistons are all marked A,B,C,D which might
indicate that there was some attempt at matching the weights (of pairs) at
the factory. I'll have the balance shop try to document this when I get it
balanced. Based on the recommendations so far, I will go with a Centerforce
clutch. Thanks to all.

Based on my experience with aftermarket flywneels (including Schieffer) is
that these flywheels are "neutral" balanced, rather than "Detroit"
balanced.
