Re: {FORGED?} Re: clubs, recommendations and list opinions

And I agree. Jock has the right. I do recommend NAMDRA as much as AMO, depending on what someone tells me their main interest is. I know NAMDRA supports all AMCs, but I usually recommend NAMDRA to those with more of a racing interest because it's the best place for that type car (though there are plenty racers in AMO), AMCRC for those with older cars, and AMO for the late 60s/70s mostly show cars. That's the GENERAL "lay of the land", as Doug mentioned.

I won't not recommend NAMDRA because Jock says he can't recommend AIM. Jock's entitled to his opinion, I've spent to long in a position to defend that right to ignore or deny it.

But I have to thank Dan for standing up for me.

He never said Frank didn't have a right to express his opinions, he said he would not recommend Frank's club based on what he expressed here, in those opinions. And yes, he may go out of his way to give all clubs the same recognition, but when he goes in a public forum and recommends one club, a club (that in the opinion of many who have been around the AMC hobby for a long time) that is not in the best interest to all AMC owners world wide, then he has sacrificed his neutral integrity.

But using your logic, and excellent logic it is, Jock should be afforded the same rights and courtesies. If he or any one else wishes to recommend one club over another, Fine. If that offends someone else and that person choses to not recommend another club as a result of that original recommendation (Jock not recommending Frank as a result of Frank recommending AMO) then that is fine and acceptable, too.
