I'm sorry Mr. Peterson feels the way he does. It's obvious that he misunderstood some things Nick Alfano was saying. There's nothing wrong with Mr. Peterson's way, as Nick was kind enough to point out. It's easy for anyone to get a mistaken impression from e-mail, we've all done it. Nick, I will say you were a bit terse at first in your reply, but at least you did make apologies and "tone down" as you went. I doubt there's anyone on here who hasn't "read into" a message or taken something the wrong way, or even replied more tersely than someone deserved. I've done them all myself even though I do try not to! There are many people on here that WILL give free information in order to keep AMCs running and racing. I doubt there are many "secrets" out there that you can't find info on. The oil system mods, for example, are well documented. If anyone is really interested in a book about building AMCs in general (not strokers, but a good mid performance build) contact Brian Johnson(http://www.hobbyobsession.com/bjsbook.html). The book is well thought out and has many pics. I have a copy myself, and it's one of the books I recommend for a complete AMC library. If there is enough response to this one he's planning a book on a "wild" AMC build. I get nothing from this, didn't even know Mr. Johnson until I got the book. If Mr. Peterson has a good write-up on the dry sump and what it takes for the modifications it just might be worth sending him $10 for it. Not many AMCers are into dry sump systems -- I don't think I've seen one myself. -- Frank Swygert Publisher, "American Independent Magazine" (AIM) For all AMC enthusiasts http://farna.home.att.net/AIM.html (free download available!) > Date: Fri, 4 Feb 2005 17:21:55 -0800 (PST) > From: lynn peterson <kustomkemps@xxxxxxxxx> > Subject: Re: GM Forged Rods on Turned 401 Cranks > To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx > > If you want a reply from me you can send your $10 and > SASE like everyoue else. > > Lynn > > --- Nick P Alfano <nick.alfano@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > Lynn, or who ever you are, > > > > Before you start taking a tone and spouting your > > mouth off about who has a > > clue or not, you should step back, compose yourself > > and be sure you > > understand what you had read.
