Re: Gremlin tranmission crossmember interchange - 6, V-8 the same?

A: I think the Gremlin and Concord/Hornet/Spirit trans crossbars interchange
(not Eagle or SX4 due to the transfercase clearance built into them) I don't
recall the mounts being different from the 8 to the 6, but since they mount
in different places, unless the 6 had a 727 and the V8 had a 998, the
driveshafts are unlikely to be the same. (I discovered with the full size
Jeeps that 6 cyl with 727/999 and NP208 rear driveshaft is close enough to
swap with V8 727/999 and NP219/228/229. The 6 cyl shaft is actually 2"
longer overall, so it would work well with the 3" to 5" lifted V8 setup)

" I would like to know two things, are the rear tranny
" crossmembers the same for V-8 and 6's, and are the
" driveshafts the same? The white Levi's X Gremlin had
" them both loose, I didn't get them, didn't have enough
" money after I got "wrung" up at the register for my
" other purchases. :O Anyway, was wondering if the
" front trans yokes on the 6 driveshafts would work on
" any V-8 Gremlins, or would the shaft work but have to
" change the yoke, or need a special V-8 Gremlin
" driveshaft? Thanks,

dunno about the crossmembers but i'd be -very- surprised if
driveshafts were the same.
