I picked up an '88 AW4 bellhousing from
a Cherokee 4.0 for the bolt pattern -
a sandwiched plate is a consideration.

The LS430 6sp.V8 Bell is much deeper
to accommodate the longer Input shafts for
the deeper convertor.

One thought would be welding up some of the
Lexus V8 holes should the flange appear
usable - then the item to address will be the
depth so as not to crush fit or not fully engaged.

With a 4.0 flexplate there shouldn't be
a mismatch in concept for the starter -
the starter position won't matter unless I
use a V8 AMC - then I adapt the convertor
to the 360 flex-plate perhaps?

Which brings me back to 'Shorty' - Headers.

Should the 'Flipped' Short Edelbrocks allow
mounting Turbos atop just above valve cover
height - installation would be much easier.

Only other place really to mount a Turbo or
2 Turbos would be if you sent the exhaust
header outlets forward - good for cooling
Turbos if they are mounted low just in behind the radiator.

Using MoPar 2.2 Turbos would make a
relatively inexpensive package with
low rpm Boost and a lot easier to live
with for a street going 8.5 comp.
on demand 450HP motor.
