Re: Your American

I need to find a place to tell it's story someday.
I'll copy the list incase anyone is interested.
It was a one owner car when I bought it back in 1993 or so.
75K original miles, two door sedan 232 auto,, pretty much a base model with no P/S or anything. Rusty and didn't have a straight panel on it! Little old man who owned it apparently couldn't see real well!
I put front fender lips in the rear quarters, it now has 255/60/R15" on the back! they will be mounted on repop Chevy style rallys with Police center caps shortly, I have the wheels 15X7 front 15X8 rear, just haven't put them on.
It has shaved door handles,Trunk lock, gas filler and the stock grille was stripped of anodizing and buffed till it looks like chrome. Car is painted Fleet white with black window frames to help hide the fact it is a sedan and not a hardtop.
It has 95 4.0L 8,000 mile engine in it. 91 Wrangler EFI. 1982 Spirit T-5 5 speed trans. Stock 3:31 Twingrip rear axle from a 69 199 auto car.
83 Concord disc brakes up front. 73 hornet Power steering box, 3 1/4 turn lock to lock. 73 Hornet tilt column, reworked to remove the column shifter and key/switch assembly.
95 Ford Ranger bucket seats with power lumbar covered in gray tweed. Stock rear seat in gray tweed. plain flat door panels in gray tweed, nothing fancy interior wise. I like to keep things simple.
Right now it is awaiting finishing touches to the Engine reinstall and EFI as it is now running and braided front brake hoses and wiring up the tilt column.
I will have it back on the road by May and warm weather. Finally!
