The foru cylinder cars that I saw had vented rotors. They were smaller diameter than the six cylinder rotors. I know about the composite pistons. Finding a caliper with composite pistons is very unlikely because of the failure rate. The pistons (or whole caliper) were replaced by AMC on warranty in most cases, by the owner when they started leaking in others. If a car had been driven much they would have been replaced within a couple years at most. >> >> I believe the rotors are all the same from 77-83 except for the 77-79 four cylinder models (2.0L), which used a solid rotor. >> >> >> Date: Fri, 14 Jan 2005 10:44:51 -0600 >> From: Guynn <amx69@xxxxxxxxxx> >> To: farna@xxxxxxx, mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx >> Subject: Re: More on Disk swap on 72 Gremlin >> >> Frank, >> >> And the 1977 Hornet/Gremli and some small 1978s were really bad to get >> parts for.
