Joe, If you want to use the 71 motor with a later Chrysler transmission it can be done fairly easily. My 72 Javelin SST has a 401 out of a 71 Matador mated with a 727. The previous owner did the work, but as I recall there are two options. You can have the crank machined down to size, or there's also an adapter. Someone on the list will know the details I'm sure. Not trying to discourage the BW, just wanted you know you have options.
